Ascension from Hollywood

Ascension from Hollywood, California asked me to mix their nine track album which I’m currently occupied with. The songs are recorded in Sunset Sound in Hollywood where Led Zeppelin and Van Halen wrote rock history. The material is awesome!

Final day at the festival

This is how the “Control Room” looks like in one of the trailers. It’s nice and cozy and as far from ergonimical as you can get. Back pains and head injuries from the low sealing. But it was a hell of a ride full of fun!

Festival Trailer Studio

This would be my weirdest studio session ever so far. I’m working on Storsjöyran Festival in Östersund during the next three day and they’ve made a studio out of two old trailers. One of them is my control room and the other one is for the bands. They get one hour and it’s totally free. In that hour we record a couple of songs and when it’s done they get the CD when they leave. It’s just for fun – and it’s REALLY FUN! Alot of crazy dudes.

Torture Division

I received a recording from Torture Division today that I’m going to mix. They play some kind of old school death metal. Torture division are Kent “Lord K” (The Project Hate MCMXCIX) – guitars, Tobben (Vomitory) – drums and Jörgen (ex Grave, The Project Hate MCMXCIX and Vicious Art) – bass/vocals. I took the tracks to Empire Studio to re-amp the guitars since Lord K had recorded his guitars with a clean signal that I could send to a guitar amp and record it all over again! I used my Engl Powerball and Marshall 1960BV Cabinet for the job. I will start mixing the three songs in a couple of days. Find them at www.torturedivision.net

Film sound recording

Manic Motion are filming an instructions video for the Swedish Folkhälsoinstitutet and it’s for those who study bartending. My job is to capture the sound and later I will mix the sound on the film. It took place at Plaza Hotels in Östersund and the result will be a DVD. In the cast you can find Mikael Rahm among others.

Dimension 34 from Studio Fredman

They just arrived from the well known Studio Fredman where many huge bands recorded their epics. With them they had a disc (The Release Of Me) with seven songs ready for mastering. I got the job to master their disc and it was a pleasure to lay hands on something fresh like this band. Clean vocals (meaning no death metal growls) from Göran is nothing less than perfect and not to say the rest of the band that made a hell of a work I can tell you. Their official homepage is www.dimension34.com, pay them a visit and get you filthy hands on it!
