Dimension 34

I’m recording 9 songs with Dimension 34 right now at Empire Studio. Their previous album was recorded at Studio Fredman and was named THE RELEASE OF ME and was released a couple of years ago. It’s a huge group of seven members and it’ll be a blast finishing this CD. Check ’em out at their Official Website or at MySpace.

Torture Division

I received a recording from Torture Division today that I’m going to mix. They play some kind of old school death metal. Torture division are Kent “Lord K” (The Project Hate MCMXCIX) – guitars, Tobben (Vomitory) – drums and Jörgen (ex Grave, The Project Hate MCMXCIX and Vicious Art) – bass/vocals. I took the tracks to Empire Studio to re-amp the guitars since Lord K had recorded his guitars with a clean signal that I could send to a guitar amp and record it all over again! I used my Engl Powerball and Marshall 1960BV Cabinet for the job. I will start mixing the three songs in a couple of days. Find them at www.torturedivision.net

And Angels Wept at Empire Studio

…and Angels Wept are recording 5 songs, starting today. The songwriter and guitarist Zeb Nilsson (Aeon) together with bassist Jocke Wassberg (Souldrainer, The Equinox ov the Gods), second guitarist Marcus Edvardsson (Souldrainer, Endless Torture, Sanctification), third guitarist Göras Ericsson, dummer Arttu Malkki (Souldrainer, The Equinox ov the Gods) and the newly joined hard core Blues’n’Roll vocalist Micke Mojo. Most of the music will be tracked this week. “…and Angels Wept” cancelled a show last night when they would’ve played with Evergrey. Instead there will be a five track demo available near you. Welcome a new family member

Today I got this very nice piece of hardware. She weigh 21 kilos and comes loaded with 100 watts from hell. I expect a life long relationship of brutality, violence and loud screaming. Welcome the ENGL POWERBALL. Yiiiihaaa! Until now I’ve been a longtimer with my Sansamp PSA-1 and a poweramp. Sure I’ve been satisfied for years with that setup and many albums have been affected by it, but you know what? The grass IS greener on the other side! The moment I heard the angel (read ENGL) I knew she came from hell and I just had to buy Her!

Penny Century mixing album

Last week I dedicated some days to mix the full length album that Penny Century recorded by Sylen at Empire Studio a couple of weeks ago. I think it was the biggest project ever with over 80 tracks containing brass and string sessions, bells and the obvious band setup. The 11 tracks held a good quality of pop music but I had to clean my head with some Cannibal Corpse in the mixing breaks. The 11 tracks will be mastered somewhere in america.

February Sky

Penny Century

Penny Century are currently working on their debut full length album in Empire Studio by Sylen. Read their studioblog here. Last night they needed assistant to record grand piano on 9 songs. A huge grand piano is nothing you want to move to the studio. Metallfabriken got the mission to take some portable equipment to the grand piano at the town theater. 6 hours flew by very fast when the talented piano player Markus of Penny Century (not me) hit the keys. It was a true joy to listen to the songs by such good musicians.
